Being a Property Manager Association Member

Joining a well-recognized property manager association takes time and effort but it has been definitely rewarding for me. I actually became an association member by chance (take their certification course) but over time I realized what a huge advantage it has given me.
Being a property manager is different from being a landlord. Having the right contacts and network will go miles to make your property management career a less bumpy ride.
As you may have guessed, the quickest way to make friends with like-minded professionals is to join property management associations.
For me I always make time to attend the local seminars and conferences hosted by my property manager association. It's a great way for me to snag those valuable contacts and keep myself updated on the latest property trends.
The property management circle is tight in my area and the words spreads fast if you do a respectable job. Being a free-lance property manager working for myself, I had other association members recommend me clients and landlords to me.
